OpenAI rolls out GPT-6 with Intelligent UI in ChatGPT, tier by tier

OpenAI's GPT-6 with Intelligent UI reaches ChatGPT on paid tiers first, with Free and Go following a day later. The post says nothing about the API.

OpenAI rolled out GPT-6 with a feature it calls Intelligent UI in ChatGPT on October 7, 2026. The post says “for everyone,” but the rollout is staged by plan. Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise users get it that day. Free and Go users get it starting the next day.

Intelligent UI changes what a reply looks like. According to OpenAI, GPT-6 can now combine text, visuals and interactive elements in one answer, picking how they fit based on the question. The examples in the post include graphs and charts, tappable buttons, forms, and small tools you can use inside the chat, like a game or a budget planning calculator.

The model names matter if you pick a plan. Paid tiers run on GPT-6 Sol, and Free and Go run on GPT-6 Luna. The post doesn’t say how the two differ in speed, quality or usage limits, so don’t assume they’re the same model with a smaller allowance.

For builders, the post is silent on the API. It doesn’t say whether Intelligent UI reaches developers, what it costs, or how much latency to expect once a response carries interactive parts. For now this is a product announcement for ChatGPT.

For a hobbyist, the difference is concrete: a chat that returns a working form or a calculator is not the same as a chat that returns paragraphs. If you’ve built small tools on top of model output, OpenAI now does that inside its own product. Watch whether the same structure shows up in the OpenAI API docs. That is the place to see whether developers can build on it.
